This place is good, the service is hit miss. Never had a problem with the taste but with orders it's constant but doesn't deter me from this place. Just make sure they took your order right and that you received your food

So my sister and I were visiting Fremont from Fresno when we stumbled upon this place. We originally wanted to go to an Indo-Chinese restaurant with a similar name, but ended up eating here.
DETAILS:
REFRESHMENTS - drinks weren't even cold enough to enjoy. I asked the manager for some ice. When I found the ice bucket, there barely wasn't any ice left. However, the manager was kind enough to bring some more.
APPETIZER- We had the chicken tikka with limón and raw white onions. It was amazing.
MAIN COURSE - CHICKEN TIKKA "SANDWICH ?"....I had to put a question mark with quotes on the word SANDWICH because it wasn't one. I mean who puts potato salad instead of wedges or fries on the side of any burger or sandwich. The meal didn't even look like a SANDWICH. IT LOOKED LIKE A MEDITERRANEAN WRAP WITH AN IDENTITY CRISIS. IT WAS DEFINITELY NOT A SANDWICH. You might as well call it a chicken tikka wrap. My sister didn't even finish her meal. I ate the food just because I was hungry that night.
CONCLUSION:
MEDIOCRE with underutilized potential to be great. My initial and final impressions weren't the best. The appetizers gave us high hopes. When we took our remaining food to go, we ended up throwing it in the trash at another place. When I complimented the chicken tikka and brought up the fact that we were "out of town" folks, the OWNER gave a disturbing grin. So much for hospitality. OWNER had a smile similar to that of a CHEAP CROOK. -

I was excited to come but was totally turned off once our food came. It's been about a year since I've visited Chaat Café. I'm not sure if it's under new management I didn't recognize any of the staff that I was used to seeing.
This was the place Me and my Friends used to go to. All-time favorite was the chicken wrap, chicken sandwich, and chaat.
The overall restaurant has not changed. Still pretty lively with upbeat Indian music. well-maintained clean, friendly staff and reasonable timing to get served. Menu is the same. Well at least I didn't notice anything new.
Today we ordered 3 chicken wraps with side of cucumber salad and one potatoes salad.
I noticed the chicken seemed over cooked. But once biting into the wrap I couldn't tell if the chicken was undercooked or overcooked and crispy on one side. There was chunks of fat and the cartilage like pieces. I cook my self and I knew something wasn't right. I managed to swallow the first bite hoping it was one bite but as my daughter pulled pieces out claiming it was bone. my friend placed pieces on the side of her plate I knew it was not just me.
We eat the naan sadly we were super hungry and wasn't bothered to ask for replacement. I was at loss of appetite. I did mention to Melissa that the food was off and showed her how we pulled pieces out.
Melissa was kind and said she would let the cooks know.
The cucumber salad were a little bitter which I can understand cucumbers cant be determined prior to using unless eaten and found to be bitter. So a pass for that.
But the chicken wrap was total disappointment. I don't think I'll be coming back.
I miss the juicy reddish chicken they once use to serve in the wrap. And that same Chicken would be served over your Cesar salad.
I hope they take this review into consideration. I hate to leave negative reviews but today my expectations were not met. -

Disappointed. We come here at least twice a month. We have come here as late as 10pm and have been served. Today we came and they told us that we cant dine in because the dine in time cut is 9:30pm.
Theres a huge line behind us of people ordering as well so it's definitely something not normal for them to do. The closing time is 10:30pm. Why the heck is one hour not enough for someone to dine in. We came at 9:35and were told we can only take out. I guess they close at 10pm now.
their owners definitely be more active on site.
But food was DELICIOUS!!! Lol -

I WON'T EAT HERE AGAIN
I would leave NO stars if that were possible. Ordered online leaving a 15% tip, and the food was supposed to be ready at 5:15 (not a busy time for them). Get there and waited an additional 25 minutes which means they hadn't even started our order upon arrival. Was irritated with the wait, but...things happen. Get home and then realized that our orders come with side salads (potato for one and cucumber for the other) neither of which were in it.
I called and they were polite but worthless. Next time we will give you 10% off, come back and we'll give it to you!
Ummmm, NO! I said, refund my tip and we will call it even. Answer, I can't. Have your manager call me. They won't be back till Monday. WHAT?!?
Then they say, drive back over (15 minutes each way) and I will give it to you. WHAT!!! Why should I inconvenience myself for YOUR mistake.
Won't go back. Read the recent terrible reviews.
